Since we don't have a farmers' market in Maryville nor Mound City in the wintertime, I take our homemade jams, jellies, and apple butter to craft shows to sell. They make great gifts and also great additions to gift baskets you're putting together. Since I like to sew and to crochet, I also make craft items to add to my table. Otherwise, it would look a little bare, with just jams and jellies. In addition to crocheting dishcloths, this year I've also made headbands for cold weather; they're decorated with crocheted flowers - so cute! I always sew aprons for adults, so this year I've added aprons for children, which are pictured here.
Then, for those of us who keep our thermostats turned down to save fuel during the winter, I'm making fleece ponchos to wear around the house. How cozy is this!? When you sit down to read, watch TV, or knit, you can throw on your poncho to keep warm. It even has a loose-fitting hood that will stop the drafts around your head and neck. And, it will keep you warm as you dash outside to get the mail or pick up the newspaper.
If you need any of these gifts for Christmas, let me know and I can get them in the mail for you. Contact me at pkennish@hotmail.com.
