I'd been in the kitchen all morning making jelly. My husband came in from working outside and said, "Wow! It looks like you're an alcoholic! I had 4 empty wine bottles lined up on the kitchen counter. Good news is, I didn't drink them. I've been making wine jelly. I'm gearing up for the Wine Fest that will be in Mound City on October 8, from noon to 8 p.m. That's a Saturday and I hope the weather is as beautiful that day as it was for last year's Wine Fest.
This morning I made 2 batches of chardonnay wine jelly, 1 batch of rose wine jelly, and 1 batch of merlot wine jelly. They are all so pretty! They are good served on crackers with cream cheese. They are a pretty appetizer to serve when you have a party, as is the jalapeno pepper jelly.
When I finished making jelly, I made a couple of apple pies. I made apple pies last week and this week for farmers' market. All 7 sold quickly and we had not had any ourselves, so I decided today it is our turn. I need to end this now so I can go eat some, topped with ice cream, of course!
